The Story of the Prophet Muhammad Splitting the Moon Amazed the King of Syria

In the past there lived a king named Habib bin Malik from the land of Syria, he was a fanatic idol worshiper and he hated the religion brought by the prophet Muhammad, one day Amr ibn Hisham wrote a letter to Habib bin Malik about the prophet Muhammad. Amr ibn Hisham was a person who really hated the Prophet Muhammad and the teachings brought by the Prophet Muhammad. King Habib was curious and wanted to meet Prophet Muhammad and reply to the letter sent by Amr ibn Hisham that he was going to visit Mecca. on the appointed day he departed with 10 thousand troops for Mecca, arrived at Mecca he sent a messenger To inform Amr ibn Hisham that he had arrived at the border of Mecca. then King Habib 

greeted Amr ibn Hisham and the group of Quraish while asking Amr ibn Hisham.

"who is Muhammad?" asked the king of Habib.

"You better ask the Quraysh group" replied Amr ibn Hisham.

Then the king of Habib asked the Quraysh group, "in his childhood Muhammad was a child who could be trusted he was honest and kind, but since he was 40 years old he began to teach a new religion, insulted and belittled our god, he brought a religion that is contrary to the religion of our ancestral heritage", answered one of the Quraysh family, Then King Habib ordered to pick up the prophet Muhammad, Then the Prophet Muhammad came in a red robe and black turban. the Prophet Muhammad came with Abu Bakar ash-Siddiq and his wife Khadijah, on the way, Khadija cried for her husband's safety. "Don't be afraid, we leave everything to Allah"  said the Prophet Muhammad.

Arriving at the village, the Prophet Muhammad was greeted warmly and allowed to sit on a chair made of gold, then king Habib said, "Muhammad, every prophet has miracles, what miracles do you have?" Then the Prophet Muhammad asked again, "what miracle is the king?"

Then King Habib replied, "I want the sun to shine on you and the moon will appear from the sky and the moon will fall in your hands, split into 2 pieces and tuck each one over your left and right arms. take it out and put it back together then tell the moon to admit that you are an apostle, then put the moon in its original place, if you can do so I will have faith in you and acknowledge you as a messenger of Allah"

Hearing the request of King Habib Amr ibn Hisham was very happy because he thought the prophet Muhammad would not be able to do it. with confidence the prophet Muhammad replied, "I fulfill the king's request."

Then the Prophet Muhammad walked to the ancient volcano and prayed two rak'ahs, after praying then he prayed to Allah  and stretched out his hand as high as possible so that King Habib request was fulfilled, suddenly without anyone knowing, 12 thousand angels came and the angel said "Hi Rasulullah, Allah greets you, Allah says, hi Muhammad do not be afraid and doubtful, Truly I am always with you, I have made decisions since ancient times, in connection with the request of Habib bin Malik you came to him to prove your apostleship. Truly Allah runs the sun, Allah runs the moon and replaces daytime with the night, Habib bin Malik had a daughter who was disabled, has no legs, arms, and is blind. God (Allah) had healed the boy so that he could walk and see" then the prophet Muhammad rushed down to meet the king of Habib and immediately the prophet Muhammad prayed for the moon to rise soon, then the moon rose with bright light and the prophet Muhammad asked the moon to come down in front of him.

Suddenly the atmosphere became very tense when there was a very powerful roar, the clouds accompanied the descent of the moon into the hands of the Prophet Muhammad. Immediately after that he divided it into 2 pieces, then he tucked the moon up his sleeve and took out the moon and put it back together. How amazed were the people who witnessed the Prophet Muhammad holding a beautiful shining moon, then the moon made a sound "Asyhadu a laa ilaaha illallaahu, wa asyhaduanna muhammadar rasuulullah."

witnessing the miracle, the minds and feelings of the people present were shaken, really this is not a dream but a real event, an extraordinary miracle that was witnessed by the king Habib bin Malik himself, he realized that would not happen to ordinary humans even though he was good at magic though, but the heart of the king of Habib was still in doubt so he said "I still have the requirements to test you" not yet finished the king of Habib speaking then the Prophet cut off his conversation and said "you have a disabled daughter right? now Allah has healed her and made her a perfect daughter."

The king of Habib was shocked because no one knew the disease of his son who was crippled and his eyes were blind except the people of the palace and those close to him. hearing the news the King of Habib was very happy, he spontaneously stood up and said, "O Meccans who believe, don't leave the religion of Islam because there is nothing more to doubt about, please know that I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."

Seeing all this Amr ibn Hisham was very upset and angry and emotionally said to King Habib, "O king Habib, do you believe in this witch doctor (Muhammad) just because you witnessed his magic?" But King Habib ignored him and went straight home, arriving at the palace gate his daughter greeted him saying "Asyhadu an laa ilaaha illallaahu, wa asyhuhanna muhammadar rasuulullah."

Of course, King Habib was surprised and asked, "O my daughter, how do you know these words?" Then his son replied "I dreamed that a handsome man approached me and told me that my father is hostile to Islam, he also said that if I become Muslim my limbs will be perfect, of course, I agree".then King Habib immediately prostrated himself as a sign of gratitude to God (Allah).
